MOB INC Privacy Policy

This policy covers the MOB INC website and the MOB INC app for iPhone and iPad. It explains what we collect, how we use it, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it changed or deleted.

MOB INC (Motorists Of Birmingham In Nice Cars) is a car club in Birmingham, Alabama. In this policy, "MOB INC", "we", "us" and "our" mean the club. Questions about this policy go to info@mobincbhm.com.

The short version

• We collect only what you give us: your name, email and phone number, plus payment details when you buy a membership or sponsorship.
• Card numbers are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• The app collects your name, email and cell number only if you fill in its optional profile, and uses them to record your event check-ins. The app has no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no location access.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
• You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing info@mobincbhm.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us on our website

• Membership and sponsorship checkout: your name, email address, phone number, billing address and, for sponsors, your business name. Your card details are entered into a secure payment form run by Stripe and go straight to Stripe.
• Forms: when you contact us, sign up to volunteer, RSVP for an event, sign up for our email list or opt in to text messages, we collect what you type into the form, such as your name, email, phone number, vehicle details and your message.
• Agreements: if you sign a member or sponsor agreement, we keep the signed agreement.
• Email: if you email us, we keep your message and email address.

Information collected automatically on our website

When you visit our website, our website host and payment processor receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, and may set cookies needed for the site, forms and checkout to work. If we use Google Analytics, it counts visits and pages viewed using cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works, though checkout may ask you to re-enter details.

Information collected by the MOB INC app

The app collects personal information only in two cases, and only when you choose to:

• Your member profile (optional): first and last name, email address and cell phone number (US numbers only). You can tap "Not Now" and use everything in the app except event check-in.
• Event check-ins (only when you tap Check-In): which event you checked in to (its name, start time and location) and the time you checked in. Check-in is available only from one hour before an event starts until one hour after it ends.

The app does not collect or access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone; advertising identifiers or any other device identifier; analytics, usage statistics or crash reports; or payment details. The app has no accounts, usernames or passwords.

2. How we use your information

• to process memberships, sponsorships and other purchases, and send receipts, invoices and renewal reminders
• to record event attendance and check-ins
• to keep our member, sponsor and volunteer records current
• to answer your questions and requests
• to send club news and event updates by email if you sign up for our email list (every email has an unsubscribe link)
• to send text messages only if you opt in to receive them (see section 4)
• to keep our website, payments and records secure and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements

Information you enter in the app is used only to record your event check-ins and keep your member contact record current. We do not use it to send you marketing. You will receive club newsletters or texts only if you separately sign up for them.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing. We share it only with these service providers, who handle it on our behalf to run the club's services:

Each of these providers is required by its agreement with us, and by its own published privacy and security commitments, to protect your information at least as well as this policy describes and to use it only to provide its service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our members and events, or if the club's activities are transferred to a successor organization that agrees to follow this policy.

4. Text messages

If you opt in to texts from MOB INC, we will send event updates, reminders and club news. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time or HELP for help. We will not share your mobile number or your text message consent with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Opting in to texts is never required to join, sponsor, buy anything or use the app.

5. More about the MOB INC app

Where app information goes

• To MOB INC through HighLevel: when you save your profile, and each time you check in, the app sends your name, email, cell number and (for check-ins) the event details and check-in time to our contact records, run for us by HighLevel. It travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
• Stored on your device: your profile is kept in the iOS Keychain, which iOS encrypts. The list of events you checked in to, and any check-in not yet sent (for example while offline), is kept in the app's settings on your device. Unsent check-ins hold only the event details and time; your name, email and number are added from the Keychain when the check-in is sent. A copy of the club calendar and recently viewed gallery photos are cached on your device so the app loads quickly.
• Loaded from Google: the app downloads the club's public event calendar from Google Calendar and the photo gallery from a public Google Drive folder. These requests contain no personal information about you, but like any web request they reveal your device's IP address to Google.

Notifications

The app asks permission to send event reminders (one week and one hour before each event). You can say no, or turn them off at any time in iOS Settings > Notifications > MOB INC. Reminders are created on your device from the public club calendar, contain no personal information and do not use a push notification token.

Links to other websites

Some app buttons open web pages: Become a Member and Become a Sponsor open our website, where payments are processed by Stripe; Donate opens the MOB INC fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham (cfbham.org); MOB INC Store opens the club apparel store run by Mordecai Sports on Chipply; Instagram, Facebook and Map buttons open those services. Anything you enter on another organization's site goes to that organization under its own privacy policy. The app cannot see what you type on those pages.

6. How long we keep it

• Member, sponsor and volunteer contact records and app check-ins: for as long as you are involved with the club, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Purchase, payment and signed agreement records: up to 7 years, as needed for tax and accounting, even if you ask us to delete your other information.
• Form messages and emails: as long as needed to handle your request and keep a reasonable record of it.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

7. Your choices and rights

• See, correct or delete your information: email info@mobincbhm.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We delete everything except records we must keep by law (section 6).
• Withdraw consent in the app: don't save a profile and don't check in; nothing personal leaves your device until you do. To change your details, open Profile on the Home screen or Your Profile on the Support tab and save new details. To remove it from your device, delete the app (iOS may keep Keychain items after deletion, so your profile may reappear if you reinstall). To remove what we already have, email us as above.
• Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in any club email.
• Stop texts: reply STOP.
• Stop reminders: turn off notifications for MOB INC in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. Email us and we will honor them. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

8. Children

Our website and app are for car club members and visitors of all ages, but they are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, email info@mobincbhm.com and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use encrypted HTTPS connections for our website, checkout and app, keep app profiles in the encrypted iOS Keychain, leave card handling to Stripe, and limit what we collect to what we need. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your information.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell members by email or in the app.
